However, things aren’t always like they seem as this is technically correct because bamboo is, in botanical terms, a grass. The bike structure uses bamboo tubes bonded together, and to conventionsl bicycle components, using hemp and epoxy resin. The rest is conventional bike parts, although the mudguards are bamboo !
Libby recounted to Coastwise members her time as a marine biologist working on megafauna such as manta rays, whale sharks and giant turtles in order to understand their live cycles better and work out ways of living with and conserving them.
She also outlined her extensive bike trip across the far east to publicise the conservation message.
