DSC_3206 - Montagues Blenny_145

A seashore survey had been scheduled for Friday 22nd April at Barricane Beach, Woolacombe, and, despite the "heavy rain" forecast, twelve stalwarts turned out to enjoy the very low tide.

In the event, there was no heavy rain, and members were rewarded with, as well as the usual rockpool population, a huge number of unusually coloured Gem anenomes.

There were also several Shannies, a couple of Montague's Blennies, a Grey Sea Slug (Aeolidia papillosa a large  nudibranch 5cm long when extended) and a couple of Common Starfish.

Moral ? Never trust the awful forecast !

No Barricane Blues for Coastwise…..
