…..mainly because Coastwise invited it !
Coastwise invited the Festival to include Heather Buttivant's book "Rock Pool – Extraordinary Encounters Between the Tides", some having been privileged to read it in draft form and been delighted by it.
The Festival agreed and kindly encouraged us to take the opportunity to publicise our activities which we did, with Heather's help, and the whole event was a great success for us thanks to Liesje Birchenough's excellent organisation.
Heather spoke to a very appreciative audience of nearly 100 including many Coastwise members. All clearly enjoyed her presentation and wanted more, queuing round the room to get their books signed afterwards.
Paula Ferris says "Quite right too, the book is enjoyable and informative in equal measure. Heather is a great guide for newcomers to the joys of rock-pooling and an instructive companion for us older hands. There are plenty of new discoveries amongst the familiar friends inhabiting Heather's pages, almost as good as being on the shore. Well done, Heather."
