Purple Laver

Purple Laver occurs as thin polythene - like brown sheets draped over rocks usually on sandy shores where it is collected and used for culinary purposes being rich in iodine and iron. It is still gathered locally, mainly for personal consumption, though sometimes sold in North Devon outlets.
