Sanderling are small, plump, energetic wading birds resembling "Clockwork toys" as they run along the sand searching for food. They do not breed in the UK, but in the high arctic. A winter visitor to our shores & a passage migrant in the spring & autumn.
Diet – Marine worms, crustaceans, molluscs & insects.
